Aquitaine second

L' Aquitanian second or Aquitania secunda was made up in IIIe century under the Tétrarchie, when the reform of Dioclétien broke up large the Gaulle Aquitaine into three parts:

• Aquitanian first in the East (Massif Central and Berry),

• the Aquitaine second on the Atlantic facade enters the mouth of the the Gironde and the the Loire (Of Bordeaux, Charentes and Poitou)
• Novempopulanie (between the Garonne and the Pyrenees),

all attached to the prefecture of the court of Gaules.

Aquitaine second corresponds to the territory of:

Agen-native
• (Aginnenses, Agen),
• Bituriges Vivisques (Of Bordeaux),
• Santones (Saintonge).
• Pétrocores (Petrocorii, Périgord),
• Pictaves (Poitou),

With the collapse of the Roman Empire of Occident, Aquitaine second is occupied by the Visigoths from 412, and by Fœdus into 418.
