Aquazole

The Aquazole is a Carburant invented by Charles Miriel and marketed by ELF during the Années 1990, it is the subject of a patented formulation: a emulsion of Gas oil (85%) and of water (13%), stabilized using specific additives, of which an organic emulsifier (2%).

Principle

The advantages of the water injection in engine of a diesel type are known since the beginning of the century:

  • increase in the Ratio compression and fuel rating (new physical properties of the emulsion),
  • elimination of the Deposit S, reduction of the emissions of Nox and Soot S (mainly due to the fall in the temperature in the Combustion chamber).

Ecological assessment

Thanks to its water emulsion in gas oil, Aquazole reduces all the stack disposals significantly:

  • a reduction of 15 to 30% of the rejections of Oxide of nitrogen (Nox),
  • a reduction from 30 to 60% of the carbonaceous particulate emissions,
  • up to 68% of reduction of smoke (water + carbonate + particles + Sulfate S + nitrogen).

According to a study of ADEME realized on buses, the use of Aquazole involves an increase in approximately 10% of consumption compared to the gas oil. As Aquazole contains water 13%, there is practically no profit in term of energy.
