Aptien

The Aptien is before the stratigraphic last stage of the Crétacé inferior. It extends from -125  ±  1 with -112  ±  1  My, succeeding the Barremien and preceding the Gault.

    • 121 to -112,2 million years according to Poling, 1995-1997-->

    Stratotype

    Aptien, defined by Alcide D' Orbigny in 1840, owes its name at the town of Apt.

    The best candidate with the Stratotype is Gorgo has Cerbara, Piobbico, Umbria - Marche, Italy.
