- Following the agreement signed between the president Laurent Gbagbo and the new Forces on March 4th, the " zone of confiance" set up in June 2003 and placed under the control of the Force of the Opération of the United Nations in Ivory Coast (Onuci) is dismantled and replaced by a " line verte" under the control of the defense forces and safety of the Ivory Coast.

Nigeria: The Supreme court of Nigeria chaired by Aloysius Katsina-Aluminum broke the decision of the Court of Appeal of Abuja and considered that “the electoral commission does not have the capacity to prohibit a candidate from contributing to elections without a valid order of justice”, thus making it possible to the vice-president Atiku Abubakar to present itself.
