In law the labor French, the apprenticeship contract indicates a Work contract of a particular type being addressed to the young people of less than 26 years named Apprenti S. It belongs to the helped Contrats.

Conditions
The apprentice learns a trade in the practitioner with the framing from a Master of training which knows the practice of the trade and can teach it, and while in parallel following a theoretical teaching in a Training center of apprentices (CFA).The training must lead to a professional certification recognized by CNCP or to a Diplôme. Certification professionnele or the Diploma must appear in the National Registre of professional Certifications.
The apprenticeship contract is one of the forms legal of framing of the formation by Alternance. The contract is a Limited time contract (CDD) of which the duration is that of the formation, a minimum rate of remuneration is fixed by the law.
