Apolo Anton Ohno

Apolo Anton Ohno , born the May 22nd 1982, is a skater speed on short track of American nationality and a gold medal-holder twice at the time of the Winter Olympics. Ohno gained five Olympic medals during its career and is one of the four Americans who gained three medals at the time of one only Olympiad of winter.

Biography

Ohno was born and life with Seattle, in Jerrie Lee and Japanese - indigenous Yuki Ohno. His/her father, who has a hairdressing salon, was divorced when Apolo was always an infant. Concerned with spare time, his/her father presented it Apolo with skater speed on short track, where Apolo found its place.

Career

In 1997, when Apolo was 14 years, one year after it appeared in the Sports Illustrated For Kids as “a successful man,” he became the youngest champion of the United States. In 1998 Nagano, it contributed for the last time in olypic tests. However, he was the first American with being the total champion of cup of the world during the season 2000-01 and four years, qualified afterwards for the team of the United States in 2002 Salt Lake City, gaining two medals with the plays. He also belonged to the team of the United States into 2006 with the Winter Olympics, gaining three medals.

2002 Winter Olympics

With Salt Lake City, Ohno emerged as a popular athlete among admirors of the USA, to supposedly charm them with its merry attitude and recovered the model. Ohno continued to carry out well in the sport after the 2002 plays of winter. It successfully defended its title of cup of the world during the 2002-03 and 2004-05 seasons. Ohno was the United States reigning champion of speed skating since 2001, and gained the title of the men of the United States for a total of eight times.

Ohno refused to take part in an event 2003 of shorts-track packs world in Korea for safety reasons. 2006 Winter Olympics

Dance hall with the Stars

On February 20th, 2007, American Broadcasting Company announced television network that Ohno would be participating in its 2007 of spring Dancing with the Stars, television of reality. It will be installed with the dancing associate, Julianne Hough: it is its first season on the television program.
