Apollodore of Damas

Apollodore of Damas , in Ἀπολλόδωρος Greek was a Architecte of the ancient Greece, born with Damas (current Syria) between 50 and 60 after J. - C. and deceased in 129 or 130.
It was destined for Rome by the emperor Trajan in 92. There remained engineer and architect of the emperor until the death of this last in 117. He was also sculptor and author of technical treaties, in particular on the Machines of war.
According to the tradition, the emperor Hadrian would have condemned it to died to be itself made fun of plans which it had worked out.
Its work
He was the architect many public buildings:-
the Bridge of the Doors of iron (102 - 104) to Dobretæ on the the Danube (currently Turnu-Severin in Romania). On the Serb bank , its vestiges are integrated today, with others of the same time, the Table of Trajan and vestiges of the Roman Voie established by this emperor, in the national park of Đerdap, close to Kladovo, in Serbia. It was a bridge with stone piles and a wood apron, with spans of 57 Mr. His dimensions: 1.135 m of length, 45 m height and 20 m of width.

the Thermes of Trajan which extended on all current the Parc from the Thermal baths , included/understood, in addition to the baths, of reserved spaces for the physical exercises, the cultural activities with two libraries, and the leisures. Built on the site of the Domus Aurea, the construction of the thermal baths in has ipso facto buried a part, which made it possible to release recently certain elements from them.
