Apogee Software is a company of development and edition of Video games founded in 1987 by Scott Miller. It is primarily known to have popularized the principle of the Partagiciel in particular with plays like Commander Keen or Wolfenstein 3D. In 1992, George Broussard joined the company and becomes about it partly owner with his founder, Miller.
In 1994, Apogee wishes to create a label different for each type of play which the company will develop or publish, this is why it launches 3D Realms and Pinball Wizards , this last branch will quickly be forgotten contrary to 3D Realms which, progressively of the importance occupied by the plays in 3D within the market of the Video games, will end up becoming the public and single label, of the company, label which it uses still today. However, Apogee Software remains the legal name of the company.
