The Apodemus corresponds to Mammifère S Rongeur S of small size, of the family of the Muridé S. When the zoologists use the term Mulot , it is strictly to define this kind, whereas this term has a broader meaning in the language running.
One knows of it a score of species, of which most known in Europe are:
- Mulot striped ( Apodemus agrarius ): 16 to 35 G with a black band on the back
- Mulot with collar ( Apodemus flavicollis ): 18 to 35 G or 18 to 40 G
- woodland Mulot or mulot common ( Apodemus sylvaticus ): 18 to 27 G
They are sharp and fast animals, good runners and jumpers, with long tail and the ears with the well developed houses. The pace points out that of the domestic Souris.
In nature, the mulots eat seeds, small fruits and small insects.
