Aoua Keïta

Aoua Keïta was a woman political Malian, born in 1912 with Bamako (then with the French Sudan, current Mali) and dead on May 7th 1980.

Aoua Keïta, after primary studies at the school of the girls and the hearth of mongrel of Bamako, continues its studies at the African school of medicine and pharmacy of Dakar, where it obtains a diploma for the occupation of Midwife. She exerts initially with Gao.

Militant trade-union, she is elected at the office of the Trade unions of the workers of Sudan in 1957. Its militancy will have like consequence its multiple changes for disciplinary reason.

It is also militant policy, combatant for the independence of the French Sudan. As of 1946, it joined the Union African democratic Sudanese woman-Gathering (US-RDA). In 1958, it enters to the Political office and is named member of the constitutional Committee of the Sudanese Republic. In 1959, it is elected appointed on list US-RDA.

As of 1960, whereas the Mali becomes independent, Aoua Keïta engages for the cause of the women in Mali. In 1975, it publishes “ Femme D Africa: Life of Aoua Kéïta told by it even ”.
