Anyang

Anyang (Zhangde) (安阳; Pinyin: Ānyáng) is a city of the north of the province of the Henan in China.

History

Anyang was the capital of the Dynastie Shang with the thousand-year-old IIe front J. - C. and one discovered near the oracular inscriptions on scale and bones ( jiaguwen ) which represent one of the first stages of the Chinese writing.

Climate

The average temperatures for the town of Anyang go from -1,6°C for the coldest month to +27°C for the hottest month, with an annual average of +13,7°C (figures stopped in 1988).

Demography

The population of its jurisdiction was of 5,25 million inhabitants in 2002.

Culture and religions

It is the seat of a Diocèse roman catholic which counted 70 churches in 1949. In 1981 opened the church Catholique of the Ville.

Administrative divisions

The city-prefecture of Anyang exerts its jurisdiction on nine subdivisions - four districts, a city-county and four counties  :
  • the district of Beiguan - 北关区 Běiguān Qū   ;
  • the district of Wenfeng - 文峰区 Wénfēng Qū   ;
  • the district of Yindu - 殷都区 Yīndū Qū   ;
  • the district of Long' year - 龙安区 Lóng' ān Qū   ;
  • the town of Linzhou - 林州市 Línzhōu Shì   ;
  • the county of Anyang - 安阳县 Ānyáng Xiàn   ;
  • the county of Tangyin - 汤阴县 Tāngyīn Xiàn   ;
  • the county of Hooted - 滑县 Huá Xiàn   ;
  • the county of Neihuang - 内黄县 Nèihuáng Xiàn .
