The anvil or incus is the second of the three Osselets of the average Oreille which allows the transmission and the amplification of the sound vibrations.
It is in contact with the hammer (or malleus ) and the clamp (or pillars ) via the lenticular Os.
In the human Ear, the anvil is on average 6 mm wide and 7 mm in height.
This bone is the homologous at the Mammifère S with the square Os the others Amniota.
