Antonio Saca ( Elías Antonio Saca González ), sometimes called “Tony” (born the March 9th 1965) is a politician, businessman and journalist El Salvador IEN. Tony Saca is the President-in-Office of the El Salvador.

He was elected president the March 21st 2004. Its mandate began on June 1st 2004 to replace Francisco Flores.

Saca belongs, just like its Flores predecessor, with the populist party of extreme-right-hand side ARENA (Alianza Republicana Nacionalista). started from extreme right-hand side with which the militia armed made thousands of victims during the civil war.

Antonio Saca is resulting from a family which emigrated of Palestine at the beginning of the 20th century.

At the time of the presidential campaign, the political lack of experience of Saca was criticized by the political commentators. With the second turn, Saca easily beat the candidate of the Frente Farabundo Martí para Liberación Nacional ( FMLN or Face Farabundo Martí for the national release) Schafik Handal with 58% of the votes and a participation of 70%.

Saca pursues the policies of its Flores predecessor: liberal economy and political alignment on the the United States. The administration of the United States of George W. Bush supported the candidature of Saca and the two countries have very friendly relations.
