Antonio Pollaiuolo
Antonio Pollaiuolo or Antonio di Jacopo Pollaiuolo , Antonio del Pollaiolo or Antonio Pollaiolo , born Antonio Benci (Florence January 17th, 1432 - Rome February 4th, 1498). He learns painting with Paolo Ucello, the sculpture with Donatello, becomes also a Orfèvre with Lorenzo Ghiberti, it is also a Italian engraver . He is the brother of Piero Pollaiuolo with which he works, this last being less appreciated than him of his time.
Their work shows at the same time their interest for the traditional influences and for the anatomy and they practice the dissection to increase their knowledge and to acquire a realistic representation of the movement, fight and tension.
