Antonio Muñoz Molina
Antonio Muñoz Molina (born the January 10th 1956 with Ubeda in Andalusia) is a Spanish writer , member since 1995 of the founded Real Academia Española in 1713. It resides at New York, where it directed the Institut Cervantes until in 2006.
Biography
After studies of History of art at the university of Grenade and Journalism at the university of Madrid, Antonio Muñoz Molina works as civil servant with Grenade and writing of the articles in the Ideal daily newspaper which will be joined together and published under the title El Robinson urbano in 1984.
He publishes in 1986 its first account, Beatus Ille , starting a brilliant career of writer crowned by many literary rewards. Its second novel, One winter in Lisbon , receives the Price of Criticism and the national Price of the novel, and is a homage to the Romance blacks American, its heroes and the Jazz. This detective novel with the characters forts and typified tale history of Santiago Biralbo, a pianist of jazz, carried in a dangerous history of table of a priceless value flown by the woman of her life and which one seeks to recover by all the means. The end of the novel suggests that Biralbo will overcome its final loneliness " in the obscure certainty that there is neither suffering nor happiness but a destiny registered in the wild and rough softness of the music, and that it is important little, consequently, to be dead or vivant." the Kingdom of the voices receives the Prix Planeta and Full moon the Prix Femina foreign in 1998.
In a short novel, In the absence of Blanca , homage to Flaubert and fine analyzes deep springs of the love passion, Antonio Muñoz Molina shows made insane love of renouncement of oneself and dependence of a simple man, Mario, civil servant in a small town of Andalusia, for Blanca, his wife, left Mrs Bovary entichée of contemporary art. After a running away fugitive and missed by Blanca, Mario T it will recognize the woman that he liked? and even the voice of Blanca? " … hotter than ever, deprived of this subtle point of distance and coldness whose he had always refused to accept the existence, just like he had refused to see, understand and include/understand so many things, so much of negligible lie, so much of inaccuracy passed under silence." Antonio Muñoz Molina is married with Elvira Lindo, writer and journalist Spanish, and is father of a child.
