Antonio Maceo

Antonio Maceo Y Grajales (1845 - 1896) is a combatant and hero of the fight for the independence of Cuba. Called bronze Titan, it takes part in more than 900 engagements in the Guerre the Ten Year old (1868-1878) and the necessary Guerre (1895-1898). Protagonist of the " Protest of Baragua " (March 15th 1878), it is the symbol of firmness and courage vis-a-vis it colonial capacity. It falls to the combat close to Havana the December 7th 1896.
