Antonio Locatelli (born the April 17th 1895 with Bergamo, Lombardy - died the June 27th 1936 with Lekempti, in the Province of Wollega, in Ethiopia) was a Aviateur, Politician, writer, Journaliste, painter and Dessinateur Italy N.
Biography
In 1915, Antonio Locatelli begins his military service, during which it obtains the pilot's license. During the war, it belongs to the famous flotilla “ Serenisssima ”, ordered by Gabriele d' Annunzio.In 1918, it takes part with its commander in the heroic overflight of Vienna, but its plane is cut down. Captive fact, it manages to escape at the end of a few days. For this fact, it receives its first gold medal.
In 1919, Locatelli is sent in Argentine for military missions. It crosses in full winter the South American continent and the the Andes.
It takes part in the countryside of Fiume.
In 1923, it makes the round the world tour.
In 1924, Locatelli tries for the first time to fly over the Atlantique, while passing by the Greenland. But, it fails because of the fog.
Of 1933 with 1934, it becomes Podestat of Bergamo, its birthplace.
In 1936, it engages in the war of Ethiopia. It takes part in it as aviator of information. During a mission on the ground, the Ethiopian troops tighten a ambush to him. He dies the June 27th 1936 at the 41 years age. He had received his second gold medal for military value and the Italian government decreed a third on a purely posthumous basis of it to him. ----
