Geographical location

The district of Düren (Kreis Düren) is located between the towns of Aachen and Cologne at the Land of Rhineland-of-North-Westphalia. It has limits with the districts of Euskirchen, Aachen, Heinsberg like to the district of the the Rhine Neuss and the district of the the Rhine-Erft.

History

It was creates on January 1st, 1972 by law of December 14th, 1971 by amalgamating the old districts of Düren and Jülich.
