Antonio Bosio

Antonio Bosio was a Archéologue Italian, born towards 1570, died in 1629.

It was agent of the Ordre of Malta to Rome. It employed 35 years to study and describe the Catacombe S of Rome and died before to have completed this great work.

The work was published in 1637, by the knight Carlo Aldobrandino, under the title of Roma sotterranea , folio and was supplemented since by Paolo Aringhi (1561) and Giovanni Gaetano Bottari (1737 - 1753)
