Antonio Balestra , painter rococo véronnais, August 12th 1666 - April 21st 1740

It is formed with Venice at Antonio Bellucci, then works some time in the workshop of Carlo Maratta with Rome. It shares especially its art between Vérone and in Venice where the opulent republic sérénissime allows him a very fertile production as well for religious orders as of the laic patronage. In 1726, it turns over definitively in its birthplace where it founds a school of painting of which will leave Giambattista Cignaroli, Giuseppe Nogari, Pietro Rotari, Johan Ritcher.

Its fabrics are dispersed in many museums of the world or private collections, however its work the most famous residence undoubtedly, " The discovery of the body of St Cosme and St Damien" exposed in the Basilica of San Giustina to Padoue.
