Anton Domenico Gabbiani

Anton Domenico Gabbiani (Florence, February 13rd, 1652 - November 22nd, 1726) is an Italian painter of the late Baroque of the school florentine which was especially active in Toscane.

Biography

It begins its training with the painter of portrait of court of Médicis Giusto Sustermans, then with the Florentin Vincenzo Dandini.

In Rome in 1673, he studies with the Accademia Fiorentina , carried out by Ciro Ferri and Ercole Ferrata.

In 1678-1679, it arrives at Venice, where it works in the workshop of Sebastiano Bombelli, and turns over to Florence in 1680, where he is sponsored by large prince Ferdinando, the son of the large-duke Cosme III. It paints the portrait of its patron surrounded by the musicians and singers Vincenzo Olivicciani, Antonio Rivani and Giulio Cavalletti (1685 - Palais Pitti).
