Anton August Heinrich Lichtenstein

Anton August Heinrich Lichtenstein is a German zoologist , born in 1753 and died in 1816.

He is doctor in Théologie and Philosophie, professor of Eastern languages. In 1782, it becomes the main thing of Johanneum of Hamburg. He is librarian assisting of 1794 with 1796 then directing 1796 with 1798 of the public library of Hamburg. In 1798, he becomes professor with the Université of Helmstedt. He is the author of Catalogus Rerum Naturalium Rarissimarum (1793) and Catalogus Musei zoologici ditissimi Hamburgi (1796). He also takes part in the work of Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Herbst (1743-1807), Natursystem DER ungeflügelten Insekten (1797). He is the father of the zoologist Hinrich Lichtenstein (1780-1857).
