Antoine de Morlhon

Andre Etienne Antoine de Morlhon , known as Antoine de Morlhon , (born the October 12th 1753 with Villefranche-with-Panat - died the January 14th 1828) was archbishop of Auch at the beginning of the 19th century

His/her maternal grandfather was François Etienne Galtier, originating in Réquista, his godmother Antoinette Roland, of Monteillet.

André Etienne Antoine was secured by his cousin Maur-Leon de Morlhon, the last of the branch De Morlhon-Laumière.

He was named general vicar of Clermont-Ferrand before the Révolution.

During the Revolution it joined Villefranche-with-Panat. Refractory priest, it was interned twice with Rodez, moved with Figeac, off-set with Bordeaux, then with the port of the Boats with Rochefort to be exiled.

In 1817, it is crowned bishop of Carcassonne.

He is recommended, under Louis XVIII, archbishop of Auch the January 13rd 1823, promulgated with the consistory of May 16th, crowned the July 13rd 1823 by Monseigneur de Quélen, archbishop of Paris, in the Chapelle of the Carmelite friars, with Paris.

Charles X named it in 1827 Pair of France, with the title of count. He died the January 14th 1828 and was buried in the Cathédrale Sainte-Marie d' Auch. A stele on the ground marks the site of its tomb. It dealt with the education of the children of its older brother and more especially of that of Auguste de Morlhon, future bishop of the Puy-en-Velay.
