Antoine and Cléopâtre
Antoine and Cléopâtre are a Play, classified in the historical tragedies of William Shakespeare.
The first representation took place in 1606 or 1608 and the first publication in 1623.
Inspired by Plutarque, it is a slow part, a lull in the work of Shakespeare, in spite of the battles and sublimates it and the épique one, which has all the fresco, of the pagoda, but has little the unequal man well, extremely then weak, weak then extremely.
Marc-Antoine wanted, with his revenge of Actium, which one can also fight in the air and fire. Disconcerting coincidence with the Dom Juan of Molière which, in the great tirade of inconstancy, wishes that it had other worlds there where to widen the field of its female conquests. The great minds meet.
If the part is as a whole not very realistic and not very credible, one cannot deny all the superb one and all the solemn one of the end, with the suicide of Cléopâtre to which one does not stick, in fact, which when she wishes to die. One finishes thus on a feeling of compassion, the pathos expensive with Aristote. The part rests rather on vacuity, except for the snake basket of the end.
