Antoine Titus
Antoine Titus is a Danse ur and Chorégraphe French born towards 1780 and died towards 1860.
After having danced with Milan, where it goes up the badly kept Girl in 1798, it begins with the Opéra from Paris in June 1804 as raises Louis Milon and remains there until 1810. After a passage to the Theater of the Door Saint Martin's day, he dances with Berlin of 1824 to 1832, then is engaged like Ballet master to Saint-Pétersbourg of 1832 to 1849, succeeding Charles-Louis Didelot.
He presents to it for the first time of the Ballet S of the Parisian repertory, like Dairy Switzerland (1832), the Sylphid (May 28th, 1835), the lame Devil (October 11th, 1839) and Gisele (December 18th, 1842). As for its own works, even if Glinka composes of it sometimes the music, they hardly mark.
In 1847, it makes come to Saint-Pétersbourg Marius Petipa and shares with him the load of ballet master until 1850, year when it is withdrawn to teach at the school of dance of the imperial Theaters during ten years.
