Antoine Saad

Antoine Saad (born in Rachaya in 1937) is a Lebanese politician .

He integrated the Lebanese Army in 1957 and reached the rank of General in 1994, before taking his retirement in 1998.

Personal friend of Walid Joumblatt, opposing Syria, it was also fought by the General Michel Aoun. January 1st 1990, Aoun stopped it and showed it to prepare a coup d'etat, in collaboration with the Lebanese Forces. It was slackening four months later by the president Elias Hraoui.

In 2005, it is elected appointed Greek-orthodoxe of Rachaya-Bekaa West, on the list of the Alliance of March 14th, beating the principal prosyrian figure of the area, the ex number 2 of the Parliament, Elie Ferzli. He is member of the democratic Gathering directed by Walid Joumblatt, within the parliamentary majority.
