Antoine Pesne
Antoine Pesne (Paris, May 23rd 1683 - Berlin, August 5th 1757) was a French painter Rococo.
Painter of court, it exerted a brilliant career in the Holy roman Empire and particulèrement in Prussia.
Biography
Pesne studies in Paris and in Italy, in particular with Andrea Celesti with Venice. He becomes painter of court for Frederic Ier then Frederic II of Prussia.
Its work
Pesne carried out many frescos and ceilings of mythological and allegorical subject for the palates of Berlin, Charlottenburg, Potsdam, Rheinsberg and Sanssouci.It is also known for its portraits of actresses and French and Italian dancers of the Opera of Berlin, of which Barberina.
