Antoine Nicolas Collar

Antoine-Nicolas Collier is a general of the French revolution, already officer under the Old Mode, guillotine on November 27th, 1793.

Old mode

Count of Marlière, it proves reliable of nobility on July 22nd, 1756 to be allowed with the military royal École, then obtains the load of Capitaine of the greyhound bitches of Mister.

French revolution

He is named colonel with the 14 {{E}} of infantry on February 5th, 1792. Named with the Armed with North (1792-1793), it is temporarily made brigadier (general officer) by Dumouriez on August 25th, 1792, then confirmed brigadier on September 7th, 1792. It enters to Lille on October 1st, 1792, and passes to division North of the Belgium under Miranda on February 1st, 1792. It is named chief of state major of the Armée with the Ardennes under Valence on March 22nd, 1793, then major general on a purely provisional basis by the general Picot of Dampierre, confirmed by the executive council on May 15th, 1793.

The general of Marlière is the object of a denouncement of Lavalette (an aristocrat jealous and with the pay of the Révolution which made send a great number of people on the scaffold). This last also perishes there on Thermidor 10 An II. The general is relieved on July 22nd, 1793 then condemned to died by the revolutionary tribunal on November 26th, 1793 (6 Frimaire An II) chaired by Fouquier-Tinville, his cousin. He is carried out the following day.

His downward wife of the princes of Savoy-Carignan (and Monaco), by her mother, girl of Victor-Amédée of Savoy-Carignan threw herself to the feet of Robespierre to obtain her leniency in vain. A great number of reflections and thoughts of the general of Marlière were noted by the count Beugnot, his companion of cell. The general was buried with the Cimetière of the Madeleine.

Madam of Marlière was a friend of the grandmother of Georges Sand and of the countess of Provence from which it was under-controlling lady of the Palate then.
