Antoine Laurent Apollinaire Fée is a Botaniste French, born the November 7th 1789 with Ardentes and dead the May 21st 1874 with Paris.

Fairy is pharmacist under-assistance-major in 1809 and takes part in the countryside of Spain. It finishes its service with the rank of assistant medical officer. It enters as pharmacist to the school of Strasbourg in 1815. It meets in 1823, the botanist Christiaan Hendrik Persoon (1755-1837), who will exert on him a great impression. In 1824, he becomes regular member of the Académie of medicine. In 1825, he is demonstrator with the military hospital of Lille then, in 1828, pharmacist-major. Fairy teaches the Botanique with Strasbourg of 1832 with 1867 where it replaces Christian Gottfried Nestler (1778-1832). It also directs, starting from this date, the Botanical garden. The thesis which it presents for obtaining this pulpit has as a title Reproduction of the plants (F. - G. Levrault, Strasbourg, 1833). It obtains, the May 14th 1833, the title of doctor in Médecine with a thesis entitled Examen of the theory of the botanico-chemical ratios . It settles in Paris after 1871. It directs the botanical Société of France in 1874.

It republishes the Systema naturae of Carl von Linné (1707-1778) in Paris in 1830 (at F. - G. Levrault) and makes always appear a Vie of Linné, written on the documents autographs left by this great man and followed analysis of its correspondence with the principal naturalists of its time to Paris in 1832 (at F. - G. Levrault). It is interested in the first botanists and makes appear the Flore of Virgile (N.E. Lemaire, 1835), the Flora of Théocrite and other bucolic Greeks (Firmin-Didot brothers, Paris, 1832), the Comments on botany and medical matter of Pline (C. - L. - F. Panckoucke, Paris, 1833).
