Antoine Janin
Antoine Janin , born with Chambéry the September 16th 1775, military French.
It entered to the service like hunter to horse to the 14th regiment, the September 15th 1792, second lieutenant in 1793. Dedicated, exact and of a severe discipline, it had crossed quarter in quarter the ranks subordinates; it was less happy for lieutenancy; it was made wait during seven years.
In year X, it passed with this rank in the gendarmerie of elite and was named major, with the rank of colonel the December 5th 1810. When Eugene de Beauharnais was named viceroy, Mr. Janin followed it to Milan to organize his guard there. Later, it followed Napoleon i in Spain and Russia.
It was with Moscow Member of the Commission established to judge the flamers of this city. It was created baron with the return of this countryside.
In 1814, it escorted Marie-Louise with Blois, and a few days later, without the order of Mr. of Labouillerie, treasurer general of the extraordinary field, it brought back to Paris the vans containing the treasures and diamonds of the crown, which were led to the Tuileries, and not to the treasure.
The gendarmerie of elite having been dissolved, Mr. Janin entered as colonel the royal gendarmerie, and shortly after the 1e company of the Mousquetaire S with the rank of assistant medical officer. To the March 20th, it followed the king until Béthune and returned to Paris. With the Second Restoration, it was named Brigadier at the date of the March 19th.
In 1816, it was made general inspector of gendarmerie and passed in 1823, with the command of the military subdivision of Bayonne. In November 1827, it accepted the cross of large officer.
In July 1830, it ordered from Bordeaux, and with the first noise of the disorders of Paris, had very prepared for resistance; but the events precipitated, Mr. Janin accepted the Tricolor with good grace. The August 20th 1830, it obtained the rank of lieutenant-general and commander the 11th military division, from where it passed to 6th.
It left these last functions to enter within the framework of reserve, and was withdrawn with Osseraine (the Low-Pyrenees).
