Antoine Forqueray
The French type-setter Antoine Forqueray was born with Paris Mantes-the-Pretty in September 1672 and died in on June 28th 1745.
Biography
Forqueray is the first of a line of type-setters which includes/understands his brother Michel (1681 - 1757), organist, and its sons Jean-Baptiste (1699-1782) and Nicolas Gilles (1703 - 1761), also organist.The Gallant Mercure of April 1682 teaches us that it had the very young honor to play of low of violin in front of Louis XIV and that this one required that one teach the viol with the young musician.
