Antoine Henri Bérault-Bercastel (November 2nd 1722, Briey - 1795) was a Jésuite French.
He was also cleaned of Omerville and canon of Noyon.
He composed of the poems:
- the canary of Canarie, poëme. Work in a new kind for the poesy Francoise, which, using some notes, forms a complete & very-sure treaty to raise the canaries , (London, i.e. Paris, 1755, in-12)
- Canaries, poëme didactic, or Treated complete for the education of the canaries . New edition, increased of a good choice of poetries little known (Paris 1795)
- Idylles news (Brussels, 1761, in-8)
- the conquest of the Promised land: poëme , 2 vol. in-12 (1766)
- entertaining Voyages of the knight of Quévédo written by itself, written and translated from Spanish (s.l., 1756, in-12); he is translator here; the author is Francisco de Quevedo (1580-1645)
He is especially known for his Histoire of the Church (24 volumes, in-12, Paris 1778 - 1790), written with method and precision, which was reprinted and supplemented in 1844 by Mathieu-Richard-Auguste Henrion.
