Antoine-Denis Chaudet , sculptor and French painter of neo-classic style , is born with Paris in 1763 and dies in this same city in 1810.

Biography

Raise Jean-Baptiste Stouf and of Etienne Gois father, it gains in 1784 a First Price of sculpture over the subject of Joseph sold by his brothers , and leaves for the Académie France to Rome. There will remain four years there. On its return, in 1789, it is approved with the royal Académie of painting and sculpture. In 1805, it is named member of the Institut.

Its statue of Napoleon i in imperator set up in 1810 in Paris and crowning the column of the Large army, Place Vendôme will be replaced in 1863 by a figure of Auguste Dumont.
