Antoine-César de Choiseul-Praslin

Antoine-César de Choiseul-Praslin , duke of Praslin (1756 - 1808), was a Général and man Politique French.

Biography

It is born in Paris the April 6th 1756, wire of Renaud César de Choiseul-Praslin (° January 18th 1735 - † December 5th 1791), itself Député and Ambassadeur with Naples, grandson of César Gabriel de Choiseul-Praslin, minister of Louis XV.

Colonel of the Regiment of Lorraine-infantry, it is elected appointed substitute for the nobility to the General states of 1789, for the Sénéchaussée of the Maine. The resignation of Mr. de Montessou makes it enter to the Parliament like regular member the August 20th. It takes little share with the deliberations and, after the departure of the king Louis XVI, lends oath to the National Assembly. In the official reports, it is indicated under the name of Mr. Praslin the young person .

Promoted Brigadier the November 28th 1791, it does not emigrate, but becomes suspect in 1793, and it is imprisoned until the fall of Robespierre on Thermidor 9 year II (July 27th 1794).

It remains then out of the policy until the Coup d'etat of the 18 brumaire, then is joined the government of the Consulat. Bonaparte invites it to belong to the preserving Senate and names it, the October 2nd 1803, member of the Légion of honor, then Commandeur of the same order the June 14th 1804.

Antoine-César de Choiseul-Praslin, duke of Praslin, count of Chevigny, Viscount of Melun, baron of the Holy-Suzanne Arrow and , Even of France, dies in Paris the January 28th 1808. It rests with the the Pantheon of Paris.

Of its marriage with Miss Charlotte Antoinette O' Brien Thomond (girl of Charles O' Brien de Thomond), it had 2 girls and a son, Charles-Felix de Choiseul-Praslin (1778 - 1841), which was the father of Charles de Choiseul-Praslin (1805 - 1847).
