Antoine-Augustin Bruzen of Martinière

Antoine-Augustin Bruzen of Martinière , or of Martinière , born with Dieppe in 1683 and died in $the Hague the June 19th 1746, is a French historian and compiler.

Thanks to the munificences of its patrons, he lived at the Court of the duke Frederic-Guillaume de Mecklembourg, then with that of the duke of Parma. He was also employed by the king of Spain and the king of both Siciles.

  • Art to preserve its health, by the School of Salerno. New translation in François worms by Mr. B.L.M. Increased of a treaty on the conservation of the Beauty of the Ladies, and several other useful and pleasant Secrecies . Paris, Company of the booksellers, 1760; 1772. They are the precepts of Health of the École of Salerno (369 Latin worms), translated into French worms. Many precepts relate to the wine: the choice and marks of the good wine, of the sweet wines and white, the red wine, the effects of the good wines, of must, bad impressions of must, soup to the wine, remedy for those which drank too much wine with the supper, things which correct drink. Other parts relate to the beer, the vinegar, the meats, vegetables, spices. The Latin poems accompany the French version. This version contains in more one collection of receipts of beauty and hygiene.
