Antistès

Antistès was an ecclesiastical title allotted to the president of the reformed Churches in Suisse of the 16th century at the 19th century. Initially employed like titrates honorary, Ulrich Zwingli was the first to carry it in 1525.

The title, used in the reformed cantons, was replaced at the end of 19th by “President of the council of Church”.
