Antique dealer

The trade of antique dealer mainly consists to acquire, restore and resell Meuble S, objets d'art and old curios (also called antiquities ) of value or quality.

Formation

The profession does not require a particular diploma. However, some schools propose adapted courses, which come to supplement a diploma of history of Article. Trade union

The S.N.C.A.O. (National union of the Trade of Antiquity and the Occasion and the Art galleries Modern and Contemporary) gathers approximately 350 professionals. It takes care of the protection of the ancestral markets, intervenes with the ministry concerning the fight against the paracommercialism and the counterfeit. It launched a site Sale-O-Net in order to inform the private individuals who buy and sell antiquities on the sites of advertisements on Internet like eBay, of the laws and the risks related to the transactions between nonprofessionals, as swindle them current.
