Antiochos d\' Ascalon

Antiochus d' Ascalon , in Greek old Ἀντίοχος Antiokhos (v. 124 - 127 front J. - C. - v. 69 front J. - C.), Greek philosopher initially academician, then critical of the school of Philon de Larisse.

Biography

Born with Ascalon, in Palestine, it had Mnésarque, a stoical philosopher , and Philon of Larissa for Masters. It remained with Alexandria, then with Athens where it taught as a chief of the Academy. Cicéron belonged to its pupils in this city (69 front J. - C.). He was also the friend of Lucullus.
