Goal

The anti-aircraft guns have summers created to defend the infantry and the armoured tanks (Tanks, transport of troops…) air raids (Plane S and Helicopter S): their history is thus related to the history of the Military aviation and the first element of the anti-aircraft Lutte.

Description

The anti-aircraft guns since the medium of the Cold war have a very small gauge in general (<30 mm), which enables them to use lighter Obus, with a rate of shooting much higher than the traditional Obus owing to the fact that their projectiles do not reach all their target and that the planes and helicopters fly quickly.

They are installed on a support fixes (military bases, important cities…) or mobile (transport of troops, warships…) tilting with almost 90° (vertically) which can rotate.

History

  • It is during the First World War, that the first aerial combats took place. Parallel to the hunters, planes were developed whose role was of " bombarder" the enemy trenches (in fact, with the whole beginning, it was not about bombardment such as we currently conceive it: the pilots launched bricks, grenades, stones… with the hand of their plane). The hairy ones thus had to learn how to defend oneself against these " bombardiers" …
  • It is only at the time of the Second world war that the anti-aircraft guns were really used. It were very useful for the British during the Blitz, coupled with their system Radar. German used also the guns of Flak, but in spite of heavy losses inflicted with the combined bombers, they could only slow down the road roller of the Royal Air Force Bomber Command and USAAF. One used pieces of artillery of any gauges going to 90 Misters

  • Nowadays, it is quasi-impossible to cut down a modern hunter and undoubtedly not a strategic bomber with an anti-aircraft gun because of important speeds or of altitudes. The speed of pointing in direction (azimuth) and of the rise in the gun was accelerated by electropneumatic systems sometimes remote-controlled by a radar of shooting in the place of the cranks (and recopy of the data of the APT) of the Second world war but it remains insufficient. The anti-aircraft guns remain however effective against the planes flying at very low altitude (strafing) and the Hélicoptère S.

During the War of Vietnam, and more recently in Iraq the Americans lost a considerable number of aircraft shot down by the strings of success of infantry (rifles and light machine-guns). The method which consists with " to draw in the air" and to create a ball of " ferraille" although of a doubtful output obliges the aviators to avoid these zones, even at the limited risks.
