A Anthracite (Of the Greek carbuncle , Άνθραξ, coal) is a Sedimentary rock of organic origin. It is a variety of coal gray, noirâtre and brilliant extracted the mines. It contains 92 to 95% of Carbone.
It is about a Roche very compact and homogeneous with an almost metal glare.

Anthracite is exclusively in the rocks of the Paléozoïque (Carbonifère and Permien).One meets large deposits in China, in Australia, Europe and with the the United States.
