Annihilus is a character pertaining to the universe of Marvel Comics appeared for the first time in Fantastiques, Annual n°6.

Origin

In a remote past, inhabitants of the Tyanna planet in the middle of the Negative Zone left to sow, on close planets, artificially fertilized spores. One of the vessel was crushed on the planet Arthros, volcanic world uninhabited, and its crew released the spores. One of them was a insectoïde endowed with a great intelligence which was going to become Annihilus.

This last discovered the vessel and, among the equipment, helmet of transmission of knowledge thanks to which it assimilated the knowledge of Tyanniens. It also used the vessel to create the cosmic capsule of control.

Extremely of this new weapon and its very great intelligence, he became the Master of the primitive forms of life who lived his planet and left to the conquest the Negative Zone. He was opposed in particular to the Fantastic Four and the Vengeurs.

This character is at the origin of the crossover Annihilation , which touched the whole of the Univers Marvel known as Cosmique. To the head of a gigantic army, it progressed through the galaxy, allied with Thanos, which enabled him to steal the capacity of Galactus. It killed Quasar, destroyed Nova Corps and the remainder of the empire Skrull. It however was overcome and killed by the last centurion, Nova.

Capacities

Annihilus has a Exosquelette very sophisticated which enables him to withstand external pressures of 700kg/cm ² and to plunge to nearly 1.000 meters under the sea. It can also breathe with the economy during one year in the space vacuum by storing oxygen molecules of which it modifies the structure.

Equipped with a great physical force, it can raise 50 tons. Its wings enable him to fly in the atmosphere to 250km/h and even more quickly in space thanks to its capsule of cosmic control.

The latter, its principal weapon, is a cylinder of 5cm of diameter and 15cm length which contains the gasoline of the technology of the Tyannien vessel. microcircuits enable him to domesticate its capacity and to control great quantities of cosmic energy which can be used in the form of gusts or to transform the atomic structures of the matter.
