Annie Ernaux

Annie Ernaux , born with Lillebonne on September 1st 1940, is a French écrivaine .

Incorporated and professor of modern letters maintaining with the retirement, Annie Ernaux passed his childhood and his youth to Yvetot, in Normandy. It was born in a rather modest social environment: his/her parents were initially workmen, then small shopkeepers. Contrary to her parents, Annie Ernaux went regularly to school and learned well. She made her studies with the Université of Rouen.

In 1984 it obtained the Prix Renaudot for one of its works in autobiographical matter, the Place . Very early in her literary career, Annie Ernaux gave up the fiction to return inlassablement on autobiographical material consisted her childhood in the coffee-grocer parental of Yvetot. She also wrote the Writing like a knife with Frederic-Yves Jeannet.
