Annick Girardin

Annick Girardin is a Political personality of Saint-Pierre-and-Miquelon born the August 3rd 1964 with Saint-Malo, in Ille-et-Vilaine. She is appointed archipelago since the June 17th 2007. She is member of the Radical left party and spokesperson of the movement Cape on the future, founded in 2000.

Political course

Annick Girardin is currently member of the territorial Council of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, where it sits since March 2001.

She was also member of the Municipal council of Saint-Pierre (Saint-Pierre-and-Miquelon) from March 18th, 2001 to February 15th, 2002.

At the time of the legislative elections of the June 9th 2002, it was candidate of the Radical left party in the first legislative district of Saint-Pierre-and-Miquelon. With only 14,8% from the votes cast and 9,6% of the registered voters, it is not acceptable to the second turn of the June 16th, which was characterized by a new re-election of the outgoing deputy Gerard Grignon.

Five years later, the June 10th 2007, it tries once again its chance and obtains 31,1% of the voices to the first turn, only arriving 132 votes behind the outgoing deputy. One week later, she is elected appointed radical of left vis-a-vis Gerard Grignon by obtaining 51,1% of the votes cast.
