Anne of Kiev
Anne of Kiev (also Agnes), in Russian АннаЯрославна (Anna Iaroslavna), is the girl of Iaroslav Wise the, large-prince of Kiev and Ingigerd. She would have been born with Kiev (Kyïv), according to the sources towards 1024, 1032 or 1036. Its back paternal grandfather Romain II, emperor of Constantinople, affirmed to go down from the kings of Macedonia.
Belonging by its confession to the Churches of the seven councils, she marries with Rheims in first weddings, the May 19th 1051, Henri I {{er}} of France which raises, as for him, of the Roman Catholic church.
They have four children together:
- Philippe Ier (1052 - 1108)
- Robert (1054 - towards 1063)
- Emma (1055 - towards 1109)
- Hugues Large the (1057 - 1102)
In 1054, with the Great schism of the East consumes the rupture between the Églises Roman and orthodoxe.
It is it which introduces the first name Philippe at the court of France by giving it to the oldest son of its first marriage which will reign under the name of Philippe Ier.
Become widowed of Henri Ier, it becomes regent of his Philippe son until in 1063, date of its remarriage with the count de Valois, Raoul de Crépy, after this one repudiated his legitimate wife. This union causes the anger of the bishops, and it couple is excommunicated in 1064.
Anne makes build with Senlis a church which is devoted in 1065, then an abbey unit, the abbey Saint-Vincent.
She dies between 1076 or in 1089, perhaps in 1079, and is buried with the Abbaye of Villiers to Cerny close to Ferté-Went It in the the Essonne. The abbey of Villiers was destroyed with the French revolution consecutively with the vote by the National Assembly of a law/decree on the destruction of the mausoleums. The stones of the abbey were used for the construction of certain house of Ferté Alais.
The French Public records preserve a document of June 22nd 1682 entitled " New Discoveries for the History of France" , in which the Menestrier Father with given the exact description of the tomb stone of Anne of Russia (called Anne of Kiev to the 21e century). (Foot-note: Text Ci below is the original including the letters and signs which in modern French are not used any more. In old French, the S known as S long resembled our F modern without the horizontal bar.)
“It eſt a tomb punt of which extrémitez them is rompuës. The figure of this Queen there eſt engraved, having ſur ſa teſte a crown with the manner of the Bonnets which one gives to the Voters: there is a return in half rings, where starts ſon Epithaphe in these terms Hic jacet Domina Agnes uxor quondam Henrici Regis, the reſte is broken, & ſur the other return one reads, Eorum per miſericordiam Dei requiſcant in pace . One learns by this Epitaph. I. That the true name of this Queen eſtoit Agnes, quoy that Meſſieurs of ſainte Marthe ayent known as Environ of the year of grace 1044. Roy Henry was united by marriage with Anne de Ruſſie, aucuns name badly it Agnes, other Malthilde.2.
