Anne Scott

Anne Scott (February 11th 1651 - February 6th 1732), 1st duchess of Buccleuch, was a rich person Scottish pairess .

Anne is the girl of Francis Scott, second count de Buccleuch. In 1661, it succeeds her sister like countess of Buccleuch. April 20th, 1663, it Marie with James Scott, first duke of Monmouth (the illegitimate son of Charles II of England and its mistress, Lucy Walter) and the husbands are created duke and duchess of Buccleuch in this day. They have seven children:

  • Isabella Scott (dead in 1748, in childhood).
  • Charles Scott, count de Doncaster (1672-1674), died in childhood.
  • James Scott, count de Dalkeith (1674-1705), married to Lady Henrietta Hyde, girl of Laurence Hyde, first count de Rochester.
  • Anne Scott (1675-1685), died in her youth.
  • Henry Scott, first count de Deloraine (1676-1730)
  • Lord Francis Scott (1678-1679), died in childhood.
  • Lady Charlotte Scott (born and died in 1683), died in childhood.

James dies in 1685, and Anne remarie with Charles Cornwallis, third baron de Cornwallis on May 6th, 1688, but they do not have an other child. Anne dies in 1732, 80 years old, and its title passes to its grandson, Francis.
