Anne Ducros
Anne Ducros is a French singer of Jazz born in 1959.
She recorded five albums under her name, took part in other recordings as a guest and forged an excellent reputation in the medium of the vocal Jazz.
She defines her step of the kind: “My search, it is to try to find the harmony perfect between the instinctive capacity that one can develop with the jazz and the way of channeling this instinct with the traditional scholarship - with a clean esthetic will. ”
Biography
Anne Ducros was born on December 1st, 1959 in Longfosse (Pas-de-Calais).She begins her musical studies by the traditional song with the Conservatoire from Boulogne-sur-Mer with Lyne Dourian.
Then, in parallel with its studies of right to the university of perfect Lille, it and refines its vocal control thanks to the lesson of Yuri Lov Anoff and Maddy Mesplé.
The practice of the Baroque music (Bach, Couperin, Haendel, Branch) sharpens its stamp like its vocal agility.
Moreover, its curiosity insatiable for work of its elder, that they are genuine stars of the kind like Sarah Vaughan or Ella Fitzgerald of which she learns from the solos by heart as well as other less known pionnières of the vocal improvisation, poses the bases of a époustouflant art of the Scat.
Anne Ducros founds a Quartet with which it is presented to various contests. In 1989, strong several rewards, it records its first album, Don' T You Take has Change which, in spite of a confidential diffusion, forecasts of a promising career.
Its scenic activity becomes extensive, in the circuit of the clubs of jazz as on certain international scenes, sometimes in company of Rene Urtreger (1992). Several meetings, as that with the double bass player Ray Brown consolidate it in her artistic orientations.
Its repertory wants to be eclectic, interfering with modern and original arrangements of standard jazz, pop songs or traditional compositions of musicians.
It is on Scène that the singer gives the full measurement of her talent: sensuality, greediness, virtuosity, clearness of the articulation, direction of the swing, intelligence, direction of the improvisation and the spectacle, a direction of irresistible humor, musical quality without fault. Anne Ducros develops a deeply original vision of the vocal jazz by the research of the instrumental colors of her voice and by the scholarship of sound scat, while continuing only the simple expression of the musical emotion.
Excellent pedagog, during the years 1992 - 1993 it teaches the Vocal Jazz with the ARPEJ of Paris and since 1994 it is director of Prelude, first school of vocal jazz of Paris. It animates also training courses and master-class throughout the world (Aix, Le Havre, Chicago, Calvi, Brussels…)
It is within the community of the musicians that its reputation is spread: one greets his stamp of contralto, his energy, his direction of the swing. The recognition comes thanks to the support from a northerner compatriot, the violonist Didier Lockwood, who allows him to record Purple Song , with the pianist Gordon Beck in guide, published on a label of international scale ( Dreyfus Records ) in 2001. Since, it records every two years a new album on this same label, but in parallel, it took part has many other recordings as a guest. In 1995 for example, Anne Ducros takes part in the recording of Friday the 14th with Luigi Trussardi and poses its voice on certain pieces of this album, left on label ELABETH.
