Anne Danican Philidor

Anne Danican Philidor (April 11th 1681 with Paris - October 8th 1728 in Paris) is a Musicien French. Its first name, little running for a man, comes to him from his godfather the duke Anne de Noailles.

He is the son of André the groin and the half-brother of François-Andre, the member most famous of the Dynastie of Philidor.

At 16 years, it composes a pastoral : the victorious Love . Follows its chief of work Diane and Endymion and the opera Danaé . In 1698, it is Hautboïste of the Large Stable of the King, then in 1704 his/her father with the royal Chapelle succeeds.

In 1725, it founds the Concert of sacred music, organization which produced until 1791 an annual series in 24 public concerts. The spiritual term indicated that the sacred music occupied a dominating place there, at least to the beginning. It will create two years later the French Concert, more centered on the profane music.
