Anne-Marie Sicotte

Anne-Marie Sicotte (born with Montreal, on June 14th, 1962) is a auteure and a Québécois Journaliste .

Biography

After having supplemented a baccalaureat specialized in history and anthropology with the University of Montreal in 1984, Anne-Marie Sicotte starts a career of journalist. She becomes editor association of the Lockkeeper , a monthly magazine being interested in the history of the Canal of Lachine, then is journalist-freelance journalist and editor association for various newspapers and re-examined ( Magazine M , Vélo Mag , the Express train of the Channel ).

Its first book, a historical guide on the channel of Lachine, appears in August 1986. In 1992, it gains the first price with the contest of news of the cultural weekly magazine Voir . At the beginning of the decade 1990, she begins research for the writing of a biography of the actor Gratien Gélinas, her maternal grandfather, biography published into 1995-1996 with the Editions Quebec America under the title Gratien Gélinas: enthusiasm and the doubt . It publishes in the editions XYZ in 2001 one second biography carrying on the same character in the collection “the great figures” devoted to the lives of Canadian personalities. It publishes in March 2002 one second biography in the same collection, this time devoted to the founder of the hospital for children Holy-Justine, Justine Lacoste-Beaubien.

Its following work, its first novel, the fragile Loves , appears the next year, follow-up into 2004 of an illustrated work devoted to the working districts (2004) and of a novel youth ( the imp in the apple ). In 2005, it publishes a new biography, devoted to the sister of Justine Lacoste-Beaubien, the militant feminist Marie Lacoste-Gérin-Lajoie.

The first volume of a new novel which takes as a starting point the history of the midwives in Quebec, the Obstreticians , appeared in 2006 at VLB Éditeur. The year 2007 saw the publication of an illustrated historical album devoted to the Québécois nuns.
