Anna Tibaijuka
Dr. Anna Kajumulo Tibaijuka is the Managing director of the Office of the United Nations in Nairobi ( ONUN ) and Executive director of the Programme of the United Nations for the human settlements ( ONU-HABITAT or PNUEH ). It is the African woman of the highest row in the system of UNO.
Born in Tanzania, she studied the agricultural Economics at the Swedish University of sciences agricultural with Upsal. She speaks English, French, Haya, Swedish and Swahili.
Between 1993 and 1998, it was Professor associated in Economic scenes with the University with Dar are Salam and also member of several delegations of the government of Tanzania near the tops the United Nations the such Conference of the United Nations on the human settlements with Istanbul (1996), the World summit of the food with Rome (1996), the World summit for social development with (Copenhagen (1995) and the Fourth world conference on the women with Beijing (1995). In Rome, she was elected Coordinatrice for the Eastern Africa in the network of Food safety, Commerce and Sustainable development. She has also member of the board of directors of UNESCO since 1997.
In 1998, it was named Coodinatrice special for the least advanced countries, the developing countries without littoral and the petis Island states under development with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Developme.
In September 2000, it was named Executive director of the PNUEH.
