Anna Pavlovna of Russia

Anna Pavlovna Romanova , large-duchess of Russia, born the January 18th 1795 with Saint-Pétersbourg and dead on March 1st 1865 with $the Hague.

Girl of Paul I {{er}} of Russia and Sophie-Dorothée of Wurtemberg, it married in 1816 Guillaume II of the Netherlands.

From this union were born:

  • Alexandre of Orange-Nassau (1818 - 1848);

  • Henri of Orange-Nassau (1820 - 1879). In 1853, it married Amélie of Saxony-Weimar (1830 - 1872); widower it married Marie of Prussia (1855 - 1888);

A common of the Netherlands bears its name: Anna Paulowna. In the same way, the tree Paulownia tomentosa, originating in the north of China, was thus named in its honor.
